Providing these additional well-being touches changes the way students see themselves — and eventually leads to a life-long legacy of learning.

Admissions

Five steps to enrollment.

Enrollment is through district referral. Placement is determined by each participating school district's Alternative Education Placement Committee, in accordance with Delaware Department of Education Regulation 611.

  1. 01

    Referral Initiation

The student's home school determines that an alternative educational setting may be required. The discipline team completes the referral packet before submitting it to the home school district for review.

  2. 02

    District Review

The district's Alternative Education Placement Committee reviews the referral to determine eligibility for placement in accordance with DDOE Regulation 611. For students with disabilities, the IEP Team makes the placement decision.

  3. 03

    Referral to YEARRRN Academy

Once the district determines eligibility, the completed referral packet and supporting documentation are forwarded to YEARRRN Academy. Program staff verify eligibility and initiate the enrollment process.

  4. 04

    Intake & Individual Service Planning

An intake meeting is scheduled with the student, parent/guardian, district representative, and program staff to review expectations and develop an Individual Service Plan.

  5. 05

    Enrollment & Ongoing Progress Monitoring

The student begins enrollment at YEARRRN Academy. Staff continuously monitor academic achievement, attendance, behavioral progress, and social-emotional development.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What programs does YEARRRN Academy offer?
We offer two programs: Project YIP for in-person learning and Project YES 24/7 for fully remote learning using the APEX platform.
What is the school dress code for Project YIP?
Yellow, black, pink, or green collared polo shirts, khaki pants (black or tan), and sneakers. Slippers, shower shoes, and slides are not permitted.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is set up by the home school district. Student learners cannot drive a vehicle to YEARRRN Academy, and no bikes or skateboards are permitted.
Are meals provided?
Yes — students in Project YIP receive both breakfast and lunch.
Can students bring cell phones?
No. YEARRRN Academy has a no-cell-phone policy which includes all electronic devices with phones. If a phone is brought, a parent/guardian will be called to pick it up.
How does attendance work in the remote program?
Class attendance is taken daily for remote sessions and recorded in the Daily Attendance Record and Weekly report. Students absent for the day are considered absent for that 24-hour window.
